ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO, CANADA:
The University of Waterloo is a public research tertiary institution with its main campus in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada which is a member of the U15, a group of research-focused institutions in Canada.
It was founded in April 4th, 1956 as a former member of the Waterloo College from which it later gained autonomy.
Situated in the heart of Ontario,. it is a perfect example of the modern institution.
The institution offers programs which are coordinated by six faculties and thirteen faculty-based schools. It is famed to operate the largest post-secondary co-operative education program in the world boasting over 20,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the university’s program.
Though Waterloo was ranked between 151-200 in the world Academic Ranking of World Universities and 6-9 in Canada, the university in the 2021 QS World University Rankings ranked the university 166th in the world and seventh in Canada.
ABOUT THE ARTHUR F. CHURCH MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Arthur F.Church scholarship awards is a envisioned out of a need to provided motivation to outstanding students
Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship is an undergraduate entry-based award for students who have secured admission into the University of Waterloo.
The award however is limited to Students taking a course in the the Faculty of Engineering. It is an endowment by Mr. Arthur Church, an Alumnus.
The scholarship board reviews the academic and extracurricular achievements of students and then shortlists two students;
A student in Computer Engineering or Systems Design Engineering
A student in Mechatronics Engineering
The Scholarship award recipients are awarded $5,000 USD each.
Recipients can only utilize the scholarship reward for their respective undergraduate tuition and fees only. It is open to people of all nationalities and background
There are no nationality barriers to the award.
Applicant must have gained admission into the University of Waterloo.
Applicant must be an entry-level student
Candidate must be enrolled in an Undergraduate program
Candidate must have fulfilled all admission requirement which may include a proof of proficiency in English for non-English speaking students.
Candidates who are enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering are automatically qualified and entered for the award consideration.
